The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.

First, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, entering the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The traitor then paid off his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants revenge.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could help the group reach places they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by the family.

This means them few options but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.
